Yes I have been on Hiatus, but that's what happens when school ends and I find myself with more important things to do than pick out zoobie traits. OK, so I've been in school for almost 2 months now and haven't written anything, but to be honest I completely spaced I had this blog. However, as I was walking along on campus today I observed a definite Zoobie type.
Today is October 27th, 2010, and was the "first real snow" of the winter season. With that snow, comes the many types of people and their winter clothing, or their not winter clothing....let me explain.
BYU students as a general rule have a lot confidence. They go to a school where Academics are commonly seen as outstanding. Moral values are ranked EXTREMELY high, and overall the school is seen to be a University that turns out well educated people. In this case, you would expect the students to be humble and good willed due to the goodness of their hearts. However, it is not generally the case.
I observed two specimen today that are worth mentioning. (I really should have taken a picture somehow, but how do you do that without weirding the people out....well maybe it wouldn't matter because they're weird anyway) One of which was sporting a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. I do not know this person, and maybe I'm quick to judge, but there is SNOW on the ground! Anyone that knows me, knows I'm an avid snow hater and a firm flip flop supporter. However, I wear the appropriate clothing for the weather presented.
Dear Mr. T-shirt,
OBVIOUSLY you aren't wearing that choice of clothing because it's "nice and warm out," rather you are wearing summer/beach/vacation clothes because you want the attention. Do you get the attention? Yep. Is it ridiculous that people give you it? Yep. Will you make comments during class about how warm and nice it is outside? Yep. Are you a zoob? Yep! You really are special Mr. Shorts and flip flops guy!

Ok, the only resemblance is the cape, but it's pretty accurate at that.
Dear Green Cape man,
You inspire me. Your long flowing green cape of awesomeness is truly tantalizing. I'm not completely sure why you are wearing it, daily, but I'm sure you have some purpose. Just a quick question though. I know Halloween is this week, and capes are a big part of said holiday, however, I have witnessed you wearing this cape long before Halloween was even remotely close. Why? I suppose it could be a medical condition, and your breathing is contingent on the cape fluttering behind you to gather the oxygen molecules in clumps, which are then whisked into your cape and up to your respiratory system. If this is the case, my sincerest apologies. Otherwise, I firmly believe you can have the willpower to hang up the cape and emerge from your youth. Being 12 was fun, but we are in college now. If you wish to continue wearing the cape, well, that is your decision and I applaud your individuality and self confidence. I understand the myth that capes give great power, but just remember that the longer you wear it, the harder it will be to remove such an article.
I suppose my point in this post is: Over confidence. Zoobies definitely have it. "Oh MAN, I only got a 93 on my test!! I'm SO MAD!! How could this happen!?!?!?!?" Yes, I have heard this phrase before, and I'm sure I will hear it many times more in the year I have left at BYU.
